Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Tulip Street Ventures LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we”, “us”), for your use of HomeRecap (the “Service”). By connecting HomeRecap to your Ring account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. HomeRecap is an independent service and is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Ring or Amazon.

1. The Service

HomeRecap reads activity from the Ring cameras you authorize, analyzes a few still images of each event with artificial intelligence, and gives you a daily written recap in the app and, if you choose, by email.

2. Not a security or emergency service

HomeRecap is a convenience summary, not a security, monitoring or alarm service. Recaps are delivered after the fact, are based on sampled images rather than full video, and may miss events or describe them incorrectly. Do not rely on HomeRecap for safety, security, or emergency decisions. In an emergency, contact emergency services.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old, reside in the United States, and have a Ring account with devices you are authorized to connect. You are responsible for your account and for activity under it, and for keeping your email account secure.

4. Your cameras and other people

You may connect only cameras you own or are authorized to use. You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to your cameras and recordings, including any notice or consent requirements for recording other people. You agree not to use HomeRecap to track, identify, or surveil any individual.

5. Subscription, trial and billing

• HomeRecap costs $3.99 per month for each Ring device you subscribe, plus applicable taxes, and includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
• Subscriptions are purchased, billed, renewed and cancelled through the Ring Appstore and are subject to Ring’s billing terms. Unless you cancel in Ring before the trial or current period ends, your subscription renews automatically.
• If your subscription ends or lapses, we stop creating new recaps. Existing recaps remain available until they are automatically deleted after 30 days.
• Refunds, if any, are handled according to the Ring Appstore’s policies.
• We may change prices with advance notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access other users’ data, interfering with or reverse engineering the Service, circumventing security or usage limits, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

7. Your content and data

You keep your rights in your Ring recordings and data. You give us permission to access, process and store your data only as needed to provide the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy. Recaps are generated for your personal use.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software and design, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service while you have an active account.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on Ring and other third-party providers. We are not responsible for their services, and changes to or interruptions of those services may affect HomeRecap.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service at any time by removing HomeRecap from your Ring account and deleting your account in Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we need to discontinue the Service; if we discontinue it, we will give reasonable notice where possible.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RECAPS WILL BE COMPLETE, ACCURATE, TIMELY OR UNINTERRUPTED.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROPERTY, DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your cameras, your recordings, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post changes here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
